Hubbard’s Lady Eagles Bowling Team won the district tournament Sunday, February 26th at Twin Star Lanes by a comfortable margin over second-place Massillon Perry. The Eagles finished with a pin-fall of 3,761, followed by the Panthers (3,689), Green (3,687), Wadsworth (3,567) and Massillon Jackson (3,553). The girls led after game one by 80 pins, but dropped into second place behind Perry by 13 pins after the next two games. After starting off slow in the first two baker games, a 213-pin effort in game three put Hubbard ahead by 50 pins. The next games of 194 and 213 kept the Eagles ahead of Perry.
Brittany Ferrara had the high game of 245. Amanda Wess had the high series with 601.
This win allows the Lady Eagles to advance to the state tournament next week at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl as one of the top five teams from the 24-team district that have qualified. Good luck, girls!
